What We Had Been Missing

It's been cold and windy here in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and I haven't been outside with my kids in God-knows-how long.  I was very pregnant during one of our hottest summers ever, then I had a baby and then it becamed dreadfully cold.  Thomas can't tolerate even the smallest amount of wind, so even on the nicer days we've been trapped inside.

Well, overnight we got about an inch of powdery snow, and poor Nathan hadn't had a chance to play in snow yet this winter, so I took him outside for a few minutes as the sun went down.  And it was so much funThis is what we had been missing.

He led the fun as we ran around, kicked a ball back and forth and "made a pile" of powdery snow.  We explored the front yard and the back yard and it felt like the experience was new to both of us.

I remembered the things I liked about this part of the property and what we used to have fun doing out here.  It was the most fun I'd had with Nathan in a while.

Oh, I can't wait for spring.  I can't wait to get back outside regularly with my big boy.  He needs it so much.  And today I found out that I need it, too.

So glad you were able to get outside for a while and clear your head a bit.. I get a little nutty myself after being in too long too.!
