As always, I’m knitting along with Ginny on Small Things today.
|I love how I inadvertently caught the reflection of the clouds in my photo. Just don't look at the dirt on my glass patio table!|
I’m humming along on my Birds in Flight socks and I’m ready to graft the toe closed on the first one. I’m also knitting another baby sweater for charity. It’s a fast and easy knit, and that’s good because I need to finish it in less than two weeks when I’ll visit a friend who will donate it to her church’s outreach mission, the Lehigh Valley Outreach Depot.
And I need to get the socks done by the end of the month. I’m looking forward to August, when I’ll leisurely cast on these totally awesome Edwardian Boating Socks (Ravelry link) and Nathan’s Baby Surprise/Tomten jacket in bulky weight yarn in fall colors. I sometimes like knitting on a deadline, but then ironically when I am, I long for more leisurely knitting.
My raspberry (okay, wineberry) jam came out awesome, and I’m still perusing the Big Book of Preserving the Harvest for more good recipes. Stay tuned!
And I’m thrilled to have realized the novel I’m “rereading,” Come to Grief, is actually one I’ve never read yet! I thought I had read all of Dick Francis’ books, yet I’d had this one sitting on my shelf unread for years. YAY!
