Yarn Along

My Knit Picks Gallatin sweater is off the needles and blocking, and one glove is down, with less than half a glove to go.  I’m still knitting the belt for the sweater, which was okay with me until I realized two days ago that the sweater is dry and done blocking.  I can’t wait to wear it while doing my Christmas shopping, running errands or doing other things moms do in December before it’s too cold to not wear a winter coat.

It was an awesome sweater to knit, and I’m even enjoying the slipstitch pattern of the belt that makes it looks like fairisle and icord at once, but is actually much easier to knit.  Despite a few typos (I am a writer, after all), the pattern instructions were pretty well-written and the sweater was really fun to knit. The only downsides were the 150+ yarn ends I had to weave in -- not my favorite thing to do.  I think I’m done with stranded colorwork patterns for now!  I have a LOT of bulky off-white yarn leftover from the kit, so I might find a sweater pattern for Nathan or design one myself.  We'll see.

I’m reading the Eleventh Plague by John S. Marr, M.D., and John Baldwin. Thanks for stopping by to see what’s on my needles and my nightstand!
