The Calm after Christmas and the Flurry Before the Storm

This morning I woke up ready to get the house back in order after our Christmas celebration and tackle the mound of laundry I’d been neglecting in favor of Christmas preparations. It was going to be a nice, calm day spent indoors, sipping tea and hot chocolate and relaxing in between chores.

So I was blindsided by a snowstorm heading our way (I thought they’d said the storm was heading out to sea?!) and disappointed that I now had to rush out to the store with the baby to do our regular grocery shopping before the storm, among all the other crazies who suddenly need milk, eggs and bread. (French toast, anyone?)

So the calm after Christmas turned into the flurry before the storm. We’re not quite ready for our first major snowstorm, so hopefully it won’t dump the whole ten inches on us and we’ll still be able to get out of our driveway with the plow still not working properly.

Now that we’re back inside and hunkered down, it’s time to regain the calm and relax the day after our fun, family-filled Christmas celebration. I hope your Christmas was as merry as ours.
