Yarn Along

As always, I’m knitting along with Ginny of small things on Wednesdays. This week I finished my pattern for Knitted Easter Eggs—check out the free pattern and the photos of Nathan showing how you can have fun with knitted eggs.

I’m also making good progress on my March socks, a pattern I call Birds in Flight. They’re easy to knit—too easy, I think, because I can’t stop thinking about next month’s socks—and the charted lace and seed stitch pattern is easy to remember. I like not having to constantly look at the chart. I’m enjoying the knitting, but I’m glad they’re going fast because I can’t wait for these socks to be off the needles and on my feet.

The socks in progress are photographed with my plans for the kitchen garden this year.
I’m still reading Oprah’s biography, and even though it’s full of juicy tidbits, it’s sometimes tedious with detail. This week I plan to catch up on EZ’s The Opinionated Knitter to learn more about EPS, Elizabeth’s Percentage System, before I design Nathan’s spring sweater. It’ll be my first original sweater design, so I’m moving forward cautiously.

Good Knitting,
Kelly

  12. Oh I love Elizabeth Zimmerman but I am also scared of her. Oprah's biograpy would be really interesting--too bad it has so many details...
