Yarn Along

I’ve been so busy in the garden that I haven’t been spending as much time knitting (or in front of the computer), but I couldn’t miss Ginny’s Yarn Along on Small Things.  So here we are.

I’m almost finished with a hat for someone who needs it in Japan—it’s my Toddler Earflap Hat adapted for knitting in the around.  I’ll share the updated pattern here next week.  I thought it was fitting that the Noro Kureyon (made in Japan) in my stash return to Japan to keep someone warm.  I might have just enough yarn leftover to make another hat for Nathan this winter.  I love how nicely it stripes around a smaller circumference.

I’m also making good headway on my May socks, my own simple design that will be snug-fitting and tall.  I’m using up every last inch of this soft self-striping yarn to get the full, stripey effect.  I really like it.

I'm still reading the Friday Night Knitting Club, and if I read as much as I should be reading, I'd be done by now.  If only I could figure out how to knit and read at the same time!  (I've tried and it didn't work for me, although I heard that the Yarn Harlot does it.  I'm not sure how.)
